Gabe’s Faves and Fades Week 14 – NFL Fantasy Football Rankings 2020

Gabe’s Faves and Fades Week 14 – NFL Fantasy Football Rankings 2020 returns! Welcome back for my Week 14 picks. Going forward instead of giving you upside plays, I’d like to focus on the more sure-fire hits. The analysis will be smaller as we already know what teams are trash and which teams are good. Let’s Go!

Quarterback

Patrick Mahomes – He is making his first appearance on the Faves and Fades this season. You normally wouldn’t see him here because he gets you an automatic 24 minimum with a ceiling of 40+ FP. This week he takes on a top defense in Miami which means he will be on his A game to break this puzzle. Miami hasn’t faced QB quite like him so buckle up and stack with Kelce. – FAVE

Aaron Rodgers – Similar to Pat, I usually avoid stating the obvious plays and look for more gems on the slate. However, he has a great matchup vs the Lions this week which can be competitive until the end. The only way Rodgers is out of the equation is if Jones goes Bonkers again. – FAVE

Jalen Hurts – The Saints have improved on Defense over the past few weeks pressuring QB’s and causing havoc leading to turnovers. Welcome to the NFL Rookie. – FADE

Running Back

Aaron Jones – I want be all in on Jones but the Packers always find ways to keep him on the sideline. He has a great matchup vs the Lions and should be able to capitalize on it as the favorites. Just don’t expect a repeat of their first meeting. – FAVE

Derrick Henry – It’s December so it must be Derrick Henry Time. He faces the worse run defense in the league vs Jacksonville. He should be the best back hands down on the slate. – FAVE

Dalvin Cook – Its been a two man race for best back in the league with him and Henry. This week however Cook is best left on the bench against a tough Tampa Bay run defense. Not saying he will be completely shutout but game script favors the passing game more in this one. – FADE

Wide Receiver

Vikings Receivers – Once again the Duo finds themselves in an advantageous match up against the weak pass defense. Expect the Bucs the to be ahead which leaves the Vikings in catch up mode for garbage time points. – FAVE

Devante Adams – Set it and forget it!! – FAVE

Brandin Cooks – He is going to the focus of defenses going forward with no Will Fuller. The Bears defense will apply pressure on Watson forcing him to scramble more than he would like so i’d expect more short passes and checkdowns. – FADE

Tight End

Travis Kelce – The Dolphins have been great shutting down receivers this season but Travis Kelce is a different beast. He should feast in the middle of the field to prove once again he is hands down the best TE in the game. – FAVE

D/ST

New Orleans Saints – You always use the defense attacking rookie QB’s Jalen Hurts gets the nod over the atrocious Carson Wentz and should be in for a rude awakening. – FAVE

Good luck and as always Gabe’s NFL Fantasy Football Rankings 2020 is available season-long!

The Poor QB Fantasy League

Shoutout to Bad QB Fantasy Leagues that came before us. Most notably Grantland – RIP.

One of a kind league of its own. A bad Quarterback in Fantasy Football in 2020 is a good thing. See we play a little differently around here this year. The Poor QB Fantasy League is reborn!

Ever wonder what it would be like to play Fantasy Football in reverse? To award points for poor play and (sometimes) even worse behavior. This league does precisely that (but only for the premier position in football)!

Don’t feel bad for these bad NFL Quarterbacks. If their play doesn’t improve they can always fall back on their millions in the bank, fame, celebrity, college awards/highlights, adulation from their fans, and most likely a bevy of beautiful women who would be happy to be their shoulder to cry on. And don’t forget to play along with us at home! Or make your own league!

Week 16 Breakdown

Despite Patriot QBs Cam Newton and Jarrett Stidham’s best efforts (56 total passing yards, 3 sacks, 1 rushing TD = 159 points) Dwayne Haskins and Washington take Week 16 with legendarily poor off-field performance.

Haskins went viral on Instagram when pictures emerged of him violating COVID protocol to attend a party with strippers, lost his captaincy, and ended up getting cut entirely by Monday evening. We don’t even have points for some of this behavior! That’s how far Haskins has gone off the deep end. So, we had to adapt some of our criteria from other off-field behavior.

We think this qualifies for going viral for “other lady friend shenanigans” (100 points), as well as being suspended (50 points), violating COVID protocol (50 points), and getting benched mid-week (30 points). That plus the on-field stats (2 INTs, 3 sacks, and 1 fumble = 65 points) equals a total of 295 points. A Poor QB League record!

What a coup for Jano! This makes our Poor QB League entirely tied up at 4 wins each. Whoever wins Week 17 wins the whole shebang! Stay tuned to see what happens!

The Poor QB League Concept

Draft 2 NFL teams using a snake-style draft.

Each week, choose one entire team to start. You get on-field points for the play of every QB on the roster that plays QB snaps. (Wildcats, WR/RB passes, and Taysom Hill type shenanigans don’t count).

Every QB on your roster is eligible for off-field points. That means whether you started them or if they are the 3rd string QB you still get points when they go viral for drunk texting four of their ex-girlfriends (for example).

Keep your own score. And follow along with our league!

Gabe’s Faves and Fades Week 12 – NFL Fantasy Football Rankings 2020

Gabe’s Faves and Fades Week 12 – Fantasy Football Rankings 2020 returns! Welcome back for my Week 12 picks. Going forward instead of giving you upside plays, I’d like to focus on the more sure-fire hits. The analysis will be smaller as we already know what teams are trash and which teams are good. Let’s Go!

Quarterback

Deshaun Watson – XFL MVP PJ Walker shut out the lowly Lions just last week with a dazzling performance. Watson is on fire right now and I regret underestimating him vs the Patriots last week who aren’t as fearful this season. – FAVE

Matthew Stafford – This feels dirty putting him here but the Texans are just as bad defensively as the Lions are. This is going to be an offensive showdown between the two teams. Golladay being available makes this pick all the more worth it. – FAVE

Ryan Tannehill – The Colts defenses is a problem if you haven’t noticed by now. – FADE

Running Back

De’Andre Swift – We have targeted running backs against Houston all season and there is no reason to stop now. If he’s healthy lock him in. – FAVE

Dalvin Cook – Stating the obvious feels lazy but backs have feasted on the 27th ranked Panthers against the run. Thielen being on the COVID/IR list only amplifies Cook’s value. – FAVE

Aaron Jones – The 7th ranked Bears are a tough matchup for the Jones and co. His involvement in the passing game could help his floor. However, we all know the passing game belongs to DeVante Adams. Look elsewhere – FADE

Wide Receiver

Will Fuller – Welcome to primetime Mr. Fuller. He has been relatively healthy all season and looks to run roughshod all over the Lions secondary. It’s a no-brainer to pair him up with Watson although you can go no wrong using Cooks as well. – FAVE

Terry McLaurin – Target monster scary Terry is easily one of the plays on the board in a dome against the trash Cowboys. Jefferson and Thielen ate hard against these boys although their defense is starting to get to full health. – FAVE

Titans Skill Players – See Ryan Tannehill – FADE

Tight End

Mark Andrews – Just know that Travis Kelce should occupy this spot every week but that’s the obvious and a great choice. Andrews is a red-zone specialist and Lamar Jackson’s favorite target. It will be tough sledding against the Steelers but he should be their best weapon. – FAVE

D/ST

Miami Dolphins – Miami Dolphins, Miami Dolphins… Miami Dolphins Number 1!!! It’s a Florida thing. They are playing the Jets who aren’t trying. – FAVE
