Heels: In Memory of Hana, Larry, and Shad

We look back at a tough week in wrestling.

Heels! This week was a tough one, as we lost so much in our community. We lost an up and coming star in Hana Kimura, a stall worth of wrestling journalism in Larry Csenko, and WWE superstar Shad Gaspard. Please join us as we honor them. We then dive into the week in wrestling as usual. And remember, even though we’re heels, we’re still human. Be nice to each other when you can.

The Quarantine Dream or How Wrestling will Bounce Back

Can WWE and AEW Bounce Back after the quarantine of COVID-19?

Heels! We’re starting 2020 speaking about how COVID-19 has put the sports world into a standstill, all except for wrestling. Now is the time more than any for WWE and AEW to reach into their bags of creativity and pull out something fantastic to draw in fans, both new and old.

We also talk about how WWE has evolved over the year from both a casual and hardcore fan perspective. Can WWE’s social media presence and 24/7 Title affect an uptick in the casual audience? Is strapping a new belt onto a celebrity the answer? OR should WWE focus on creating a product with its in-house superstars?
