Gabe’s Faves and Fades Week 11 – NFL Fantasy Football Rankings

Welcome back, gang! It is the NFL Fantasy Football rankings Week 11 edition. Last week produced injuries and ineffectiveness from all over the league. For some, the playoffs are starting this week and for others, you are clawing to make the cut. Let’s see if we can get past the craziness of Week 10 for some winning lineups across the fantasy landscape.

Quarterback

Ben Roethlisberger – For whatever reason, the Steelers lately have been leaning heavily on the pass. Ben is averaging close to 41 pass attempts over his last 4 games and 290 pass yards in that same span. He is in play with all of his pass-catchers against the porous secondary of the Jaguars. – FAVE

Justin Herbert – We never ever stop picking on the Jets who are bad by design and on purpose. If the Jets can remain competitive for more than a quarter the Chargers should feast. Some believe since Herbert cut his locks that he lost his superpowers but I’m not buying it. -_- Stack him with Allen and watch the points add up. – FAVE

Deshaun Watson – What Bill does best is keep the opposing team’s best player off the field for long periods of time. In this case, it’s Watson. Expect Cam, Harris, and Burkhead to simply run the ball down their throat all game. The Pats defenses don’t exactly strike fear into anyone but I just feel you can look elsewhere. – FADE

Running Back

Rex Burkhead/Damien Harris – Trying to figure out which back gets the most work is always the question. The running game will be on full display against Houston who gives up the 4th most yards to backs through 10 weeks. I’m leaning more towards Burkhead if Damien Harris has any nagging injury designations entering Sunday. – FAVE

J.D. McKissic – He’s been a target machine over the past two games at 28 hits. Alex Smith is the check down king so you can believe he is always looking for short yardage gains with McKissic up the middle. The only concern is Gibson gaining massive yards on the ground and stealing goal-line work. There is room for both backs to against the lowly Bengals – FAVE

Duke Johnson – Last week all backs produced miserable results and Johnson was no different. The weather was a factor in Cleveland which normally would lean towards the run game but didn’t. New England is susceptible to giving up yards to the run but my guess would be Watson getting those yards. David Johnson is still out so if you need a replacement he is fine- FADE

Wide Receiver

Keenan Allen – Allen averages the third-most targets this season behind Diggs and Robinson. This week he goes up against the Jets and stacking him with Herbert as suggested above is automatic. Don’t overthink this one. – FAVE

Jakobi Meyers – There is a theme with the Pats/Texans game in my write up this week. I expect this game to be the most competitive on the slate. Meyers has established himself in recent weeks as Newton’s go-to guy over N’Keal Harry. The former quarterback threw a 24-yard touchdown to Rex Burkhead and caught 5 receptions on 7 targets. The Texans much like the Jets aren’t a threat on defense so look for Meyers to get all he can handle. – FAVE

Marquise Brown – He has a great matchup against the Titans this week but his shortcomings are in part due to Lamar Jackson taking a step back this season. Jackson is still a dynamic player but he’s been distributing the targets all over the field this season. Brown has been vocal about not being used more in the offense but it fell on deaf ears. He is a dart throw at best this week. – FADE

Tight End

Taysom Hill – Taysom Hill gets a really good match-up against the Falcons this week. I think we can expect to see him steal some goal-line work from Murray and perhaps Kamara. We may even get a Winston TD toss to him as well on RedZone trips. He is the starting quarterback on Draftkings but TE eligible on Fanduel and ESPN so enjoy having dual quarterbacks for one week in this setting. – FAVE

D/ST

Miami Dolphins – The Dolphins defense has been solid over its past three games averaging 1.5 sacks and INT’s over that stretch. They travel to Denver to take on the struggling Broncos whose Quarterback is questionable. This is a recipe for success. – FAVE

Value Plays

QB – Cousins, Newton & Rivers

RB – Ballage, Ahmed & Duke Johnson

WR – Samuel, Cooks & Diontae Johnson

TE – Taysom Hill

D/ST – Bengals & Falcons
