Gabe’s Faves and Fades for Week 10 – Fantasy Football Advice

Welcome to Week 10 of fantasy as playoffs are around the corner. Let’s get right into some of the plays of the week.

Deshaun Watson – The “Let Watson Cook” movement is underway since the firing of Bill O’Brien. His rushing yards are up and he’s scored at least 24+ fantasy points per game over his last 4. I see no reason that changes against Cleveland as he is asked to carry more of the offensive load. – FAVE

Josh Allen – One of the best values on the board at QB is Josh Allen. He is set to take on the Cardinals in what appears to be a shootout in the desert. After a couple of subpar games, Allen bounced back against the Seahawks with his best performance of the season scoring 4 total TDs and 415 passing yards. – FAVE

Matthew Stafford – He simply isn’t the same without Golladay in the lineup. The Washington Football team has been playing better as of late thanks in part to the defense limiting opposing backs. This will force Stafford to air it out, and that is not good news for the Lions. – FADE

Running Back

Mike Davis – Christian McCaffrey will miss week 10 with a should injury, thrusting Davis back into the starting role. I predict he will be close to 90% owned as he is averaging 8.8 touches and 5.8 targets in games he has started in place of CMC. Volume is the name of the game here. – FAVE

Duke Johnson – The Mike Davis analysis belongs to Duke as David Johnson has been placed on IR. It’s also a revenge game, so the added motivation will be there. – FAVE

Miami Dolphins Backfield – Between Howard, Breida, Laird and Ahmed, it is simply too tall of a task to determine which back gets the majority of the work in Gaskin’s absence. – FADE

Wide Receiver

Curtis Samuel – Dual-threat Samuel has been operating out of the backfield on a good amount of plays, becoming the best short=pass option for “Teddy Two Gloves”. Add in the fact that CMC is out only serves to bolster his standing in the pecking order of Panthers pass catchers. Tampa is weak in the slot, so expect another great performance from Samuel. – FAVE

Christian Kirk – Kirk has seen his production ramp up over the past 3 games scoring 5 TDs and averaging 18 points in that span at the expense of Hopkins. His targets are also up but would caution that he is a bit touchdown dependent. That being said, ride the wave until it stops. – FAVE

Michael Thomas -The bane of most fantasy teams this season due to injuries, suspension, and rust he cannot seem to shake off. The Saints have incorporated more skill players into the offense as of late which doesn’t bode well for Thomas. I’d take the wait and see approach before using him with any real confidence – FADE

Tight End

Darren Waller – Tight Ends are always a headache to decipher from week to week. This week is no different with the “ole reliable” Travis Kelce out on a bye. Waller is a distant second to Kelce in regards to targets and catches on the season. His floor is higher than other tight ends which makes him a safe play against the Broncos. Don’t forget, he’s had success against them last season going two games with a combined line of 13/177/0. – FAVE

Green Bay Packers – vs. rookie QB Jake Luton at home?! NO BRAINER. We always target the D/ST vs. rookies and this situation is no different.- FAVE

VALUE / CONTRARIAN PLAYS – This week I’d like to list some value plays that will enable you to get off the chalk for a more contrarian lineup.

QB – Alex Smith, Carson Wentz, Derrick Carr & Tom Brady

RB – Mike Davis, Duke Johnson, Miles Sanders & Antonio Gibson

WR – Tyler Lockett, DeVante Parker, Terry McLaurin & Chris Godwin

TE – Dallas Goedert, Austin Hooper & Logan Thomas
