Celtics win game seven and head to Eastern Conference Finals

Boston jumped out to 10-2 lead to start the game but would ultimately slow down as both teams got their footing. It would stay close in the first half with both teams shooting over 50-percent from the field early. Washington went into half leading 55-53.

The Wizards also got out on the break to start the second-half lead by John Wall as they got into a nice rhythm offensively. The plan was to make Isaiah Thomas work on both ends of the floor as both Otto Porter and Bradley Beal made the most of their post up opportunities against him.

The Celtics however, would go up 85-79 on a 13-3 run with Isaiah Thomas hitting back to back threes along with Marcus Smart adding one of his own to close out the third.

Thomas and Horford would combine for 30 points in the quarter to pace the Celtics.

The Wizards unraveled a bit to open the fourth with quick shots and turnovers. The Celtics meanwhile continued their barrage offensively with Thomas hitting threes off screens as Jae Crowder muscled his way in the paint for contested layups to go up 94-81.

The Wizards would answer after a timeout with a layup from Gortat and five quick points from Markieff Morris to close the gap making it 88-94.

Both teams would trade baskets as Bradley Beal caught fire in the fourth hitting 9-of-10 at the free throw line and connecting on multiple treys. He would go on to score a career playoff high 38 points on 12-22 shooting.

John Wall struggled to find his shot in the game connecting on only 8 for 23 shots scoring 18 points contributing 11 assists.

Kelly Olynyk caught fire of his own his scoring 13 fourth quarter points as the unsung hero for the Celtics. He finished with 26 points as the lone source of energy for the Celtics bench.

The Celtics will return back to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since the 2011-2012 season. While the current team is different a familiar opponent will be LeBron James in a Cavalier uniform this time. The Celtics will have a quick turnaround as they host the Cavaliers on Wednesday night in Boston. Tip-off is at 8:30 PM EST on TNT.
