“Thank You, Utah”, writes Gordon Hayward as he officially announces that he will join the Boston Celtics. Hayward announced his decision via The Players’ Tribune on Tuesday evening.
Hayward has spent all of his seven seasons as a member of the Utah Jazz. In that time he was a first-time All-Star in the 2016-2017 season while for his career, averaging 15.7 points per game, 3.4 assists per game, 4.2 rebounds per game, and shooting 47-percent from the field. Hayward also will join a familiar face in Brad Stevens who also coached him in college at Butler.
David Aldridge reports that the deal will be a max deal around 4-years, $152 million.
